In the December 2024 issue of Marie Claire UK, Felicity Jones mesmerized the audience in a bold red leather gown, discussing the pressing issue of gender inequality and the need to challenge societal norms within the film industry.

The 41-year-old star showcased her elegance in a chic scoop-neck corset gown, later switching to a daring black cut-out dress complemented by a lace bra top for a captivating rooftop photo session.

During her interview, Felicity shared insights about her new production company, asserting, “There are always pressures on how one is expected to behave, and it’s crucial to resist those norms.”

Reflecting on her trajectory since her acclaimed role in 2011’s *Like Crazy*, she addressed the ongoing “significant gender imbalance,” likening it to navigating a construction site. She observed that scripts frequently emphasized an actress’s looks over her character, but remarked, “I’ve seen a shift; people are more aware of this now.”

Felicity underscored the necessity for boosted financial backing for female filmmakers, pointing out the “remarkable changes” occurring within the sector.

Next Project in The Brutalist

Felicity is set to appear in *The Brutalist*, an epic historical film directed by Brady Corbet, slated for release in January. The movie narrates the life of László Tóth, a Holocaust survivor and Hungarian architect portrayed by Adrien Brody, focusing on his efforts to rebuild his life and career in the United States. Felicity takes on the role of Erzsébet Tóth, László’s spouse.

The film’s narrative unfolds over several decades, detailing Tóth’s transformation from destitution to securing a critical project with industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren, played by Guy Pearce. The supporting cast includes Joe Alwyn and Alessandro Nivola.

For Brody, the story resonates deeply due to his mother’s experiences as a Hungarian immigrant escaping Soviet domination. He expressed, “Though it’s a fictional tale, it feels intensely personal and relatable to me.”

Director Brady Corbet described *The Brutalist* as a “physical embodiment of 20th-century trauma” and a homage to creatives whose visions were never fully realized. At the Venice Film Festival, Corbet stated, “This film accomplishes everything we are told is impossible to do.”

Felicity Jones’s dynamic interview and the ambitious nature of *The Brutalist* illustrate her dedication to redefining narratives both on and off-screen.
